Mark Schulze started his San Diego video production company, Crystal Pyramid Productions, in 1981 just after he graduated from UCSD where he majored in Communications/Sociology.

Crystal Pyramid Productions shoots productions for Fortune 500 corporations and broadcast producers. Clients include the Home & Garden Network, Inside Edition, E! Entertainment, UPS, Prudential, Premier Healthcare and Oprah.

Schulze has won many awards and honors over the last 30 years.  He has been honored as a “Top 100 Producer” three times, and has won several Tellys.

In 1985, Schulze and his partner, Patty Mooney, created a company called New & Unique Videos to produce and distribute award-winning home videos on mountain biking, massage and other topics. Schulze created the first-ever “helmet POV cam” to document mountain bike events.

In 1987, New & Unique Videos also became a stock-footage library. You may have seen clips on commercials, movies, Real TV, “World’s Worst Drivers,” or “Whose Line is it Anyway?” Over his twenty two years as a camera operator, Schulze is a master at everything from interviews with and without blue or green screen to the “run ‘n gun” ENG. He knows how to get the occasional shy kid to say poignant things, and how to get the “wooden” interviewee to loosen up. He is also affectionately known as the “MacGyver” of video production by those who know him best.

Mark’s philosophy of work and of life are one and the same: Life is=20 short, so have a good time. And share it with others.
